چکیده

ObjectivesThe objective of this study was to quantitatively assess the image quality Advanced Modeled Iterative Reconstruction (ADMIRE) and PixelShine (PS) deep learning algorithm for optimization low-dose computed tomography protocols in midfacial trauma.Study DesignSix fresh frozen human cadaver head specimens were scanned by using both standard scan protocols. Three iterative reconstruction strengths applied reconstruct bone soft tissue data sets these subsequently PS algorithm. Signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) contrast-to-noise (CNRs) calculated each set noise measurements 10 consecutive slices from a standardized region interest template.ResultsThe protocol resulted 61.7% decrease radiation dose. Radiation dose reduction significantly reduced, improved, CNR sets. The algorithms improved after substantial reduction. greatest improvement SNRs CNRs found algorithm.ConclusionBoth ADMIRE trauma. Learned Shrinkage Approach for Low-Dose Reconstruction in Computed Tomography

We propose a direct nonlinear reconstruction algorithm for Computed Tomography (CT), designed to handle low-dose measurements. It involves the filtered back-projection and adaptive nonlinear filtering in both the projection and the image domains. The filter is an extension of the learned shrinkage method by Hel-Or and Shaked to the case of indirect observations. The shrinkage functions are lear...

X-Ray Dose Reduction in Abdominal Computed Tomography Using Advanced Iterative Reconstruction Algorithms

OBJECTIVE This work aims to explore the effects of adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction (ASiR) and model-based iterative reconstruction (MBIR) algorithms in reducing computed tomography (CT) radiation dosages in abdominal imaging. METHODS CT scans on a standard male phantom were performed at different tube currents. Images at the different tube currents were reconstructed with the fi...

Pilot Study of Low-Dose Nonenhanced Computed Tomography With Iterative Reconstruction for Diagnosis of Urinary Stones

PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy of low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) for detecting urinary stones with the use of an iterative reconstruction technique for reducing radiation dose and image noise. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 101 stones from 69 patients who underwent both conventional nonenhanced computed tomography (CCT) and LDCT were analyzed. Interpretations were made of the two sca...

Computed Tomography Iterative Reconstruction Techniques.

For all their diagnostic value, computed tomography (CT) examinations have relatively high radiation exposure. Past efforts to decrease patient dose emphasized advances in data acquisition technology because attempts to decrease dose resulted in increased image noise from filtered back projection reconstruction techniques. Iterative reconstruction techniques lead to reduced dose and maintain im...

Low-dose computed tomography with 4th-generation iterative reconstruction algorithm in assessment of oncologic patients

AIM To compare radiation dose and image quality of low-dose computed tomography (CT) protocol combined with hybrid-iterative reconstruction algorithm with standard-dose CT examinations for follow-up of oncologic patients. METHODS Fifty-one patients with known malignant diseases which underwent, during clinical follow-up, both standard-dose and low-dose whole-body CT scans were enrolled. Low-d...
